Here's a radical idea: There is no recession! the media keeps telling us that there is but I don't think so. I've found that people always find money for the things they want, I always do. None of us have stopped driving,lol. But the other thing is that I think many of us were simply living above our means. Just because you qualify for it doesn't mean you should get it, hence, the disaster called the Subprime market. Just because it's in your wallet doesn't mean you should spend it(unless it is on premium companionship, Mine) I think these economic times are a reality check, but not much more than that.
That being said, I do believe that it is time to find alternative fuel sources or at least increase the amount that refineries put out (currently about 25%), forgive some third world debt, and stop the deforestation of the rain forests, and vote democrat (US) but we in the US and UK live in capitalist societies which always has and always will rely on one rule :supply versus demand So, choose your courtesan (ME)carefully and enjoy my talents many many times........because I know you will find a way to get what you want!
